PARISO hates Moshtache Records

Yew! How’s things in the Pariso camp.

All good! We just finished up recording 2 rough demos for our album, a short song for our new little single out next month, and two special covers which we hope will both surface this year on various things. I think the covers are pretty special, not what is expected of us (but then our source material for covers has always been pretty varied), and one features a bunch of guests on it!…….We also have a bunch of shows in August which we are totally looking forward to. Also - seriously, what does ‘yew’ mean? It sounds like something a shitty deathcore vocalist would do.

Hmm… Favourite shows you’ve played so far? Bands you’ve played with?

I think our defining show so far was our 7” launch show at the Unicorn in Camden….it was the first time a load of people showed up and went nuts to us. It ruled. We enjoyed Carry On Moshing fest too - despite the feedback problems, we had stagediving and everything, which ruled. As for bands we’ve played with - in Scotland we played with Entrosolet (meshuggah type stuff) and Oblivion Incarnate who were pure death metal - pure crushadelica both. No jangly shit. I love varied bills with mega brutalizers. Fuck all our friends’ bands, they are all pussies apart from Witch Cult. To be honest though - everything is boring apart from those 20 minutes of annihilation, courtesy of us.

You’ve released a 5 inch vinyl/ credit card size CD combo. Your next release is a 2 song single (I’d Rather Die Than Go To Heaven) Released via Diskette Etikette Records on a floppy disk. Are you just trying to be difficult now? - Releasing on a dead format- I don’t even have a floppy disk slot on my computer.

No, I don’t think so. To a lot of people, physical music is redundant, so why not create things artistically that are fun and try and stand out a bit from the piles of dead cds? We all love vinyl though - that is how you should be listening to us where possible. But yeah, I guess we are awkward bastards, me in particular - I never make anything easy for myself…..but easy is boring, and easy is just what the majority of people do. We have received some criticism for our format choices, but that just says to me people are scared of creative thinking, that they want things to be easy…..if you think it’s a dead format then you just aren’t making any effort.

Your new t-shirt features an image of Jesus Christ- Surely that’s just asking for trouble!

None of us are fans of religion, we think it’s pretty stupid, contradicts itself and is responsible for a lot of bad stuff in the world BUT, to be honest, we don’t think about it too much, we were just like ‘this would be cool’ and we just riff off of our song titles and things we like for ideas, just stuff we think would be cool.

So really you’re just looking for attention- trying to make a buzz through controversy? - I’m afraid cradle of filth beat you to it

No. We just want to make things we think looks cool. When you are this fucking sick, nothing is controversial. And I really don’t care about pantomime fucking goth ‘metal’.

You’ve taken issue recently with the Moshtache Records motto- POSIMOSH. What’s your problem?

Just sick of everyone being sensitive pussies. The world is an evil, dark place full of shit - heavy music isn’t supposed to be about rainbows and jangly guitar chords with some wet little dick crying over the top. Distort to hell, learn to use distortion, feedback and high volume, get some dirt under your fingernails. We don’t write this music for everyone to ‘respect each other in the pit’ - yawn…  go back to your fucking Thursday records. We write for violence and destruction. Seeing blood is cool.

Well perhaps the world would be a better place if people (like yourselves) weren’t so negative all the time. With a bit positivity and respect gigs would be a lot more enjoyable for all.

Being negative is not a choice, it’s what happens to those of an intellect. Obviously there is positivity in the world, but it’s far outweighed by a huge list of things that inspire my loathing and disgust. Respect is earned, until then - get fucked, get crushed. I enjoy inflicting my pain upon others through black sonic mayhem. If that inspires violent physical outpourings, then that person has understood what the inside of my head feels like.

Well, I’m starting to think it would’ve been better if you’d dropped the Pariso from you’re original name and just kept the Betty. Why try so hard to put yourselves across as ‘tough guys’?

We are about as untough as it gets. It’s all a joke but with us making the best music we can, that we really want to hear. Anyone that seriously believes in the shit we say and do is just being laughed at by us.
