THE LONG HAUL ARE A PROGRESSIVE HARDCORE BAND FROM SOUTHAMPTON WHO ARE ALSO ON TANGLED TALK RECORDS.
THEY DON’T HAVE MUCH RECORDED OUTPUT BUT WHAT IS OUT THERE IS GOOD SOLID STUFF IN THE FORM OF A SPLIT WITH KEROUAC AND A TWO TRACK DEMO (AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD FOR FREE).
AT THE TIME OF THIS INTERVIEW THEY HAD JUST PARTED WAYS WITH THEIR VOCALIST.
ME: So you’ve recently parted ways with your vocalist, that sucks, how is the search for a new one going?
LEWIS: Yeah it’s going fine cheers. I’m sure by the time this is out we’ll be sorted. (AFTER THIS INTERVIEW THE LONG HAUL FOUND A NEW VOCALIST)
ME: The split you guys did with Kerouac was intense and I like many others want to hear more. What’s next for The Long Haul?
LEWIS: We’re in the process of writing a brand new record which we’ll be recording in the next couple of months. Then have a few tours in the pipeline which we’re ridiculously excited about.
ME: What elements would you say makes up “The Long Haul” sound?
LEWIS: Fast, heavy and honest music with some thought behind it and a secret passion for bluegrass.
ME: If you had to recommend some bands to someone who was after new exciting music who would they be? LEWIS: Check out our friends in Bastions, Goodtime Boys, Kerouac, Kasa and Pariso. #ukswell etc.. The UK scene is full of exciting new bands at the moment. ME: Finally, if you could tour ANYWHERE where would it be and why? LEWIS: Anywhere that wants us! Europe was amazing and so welcoming so I’m sure we all want to go back. The states would also be quite nice if anyone wants to book us a tour… YOU CAN CATCH THE LONG HAUL LIVE IF YOU MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO ANY OF THE “TANGLED TOUR” DATES.
